Sculpture installation almost done

I have taken this photograph so you can see how i intend to show this particular piece of work. I am unsure about a title and all that, just yet. The tallest sculpture needs a finishing coat of plaster and the smaller ones need to be finished and plasterd.

I was going to paint them all black but i like how they all have subtule differences with colour. The taller ones have 3 tones in them which looks quite nice.

Hopfully they will be all completed by Friday evening.

Sculptures (In progress)

I am currently working on some sculptures that are inspired by Natural structures. I am making them using common household materials juxtaposing the idea of natural and man made. Each sculpture is a different height and has its own unique surface texture. Finished off with found tree branches growing from inside them. I want the work to retain its man made quality yet meet with natural object almost like a hybrid. Is the natural supporting the man made or the other way around.

Here are some pictures so far... Hope the information makes sense. If it doesn't i am making them for aesthetic purpose ;) haha.

I lose my Blog Virginity....Yay!

Hello, This is my first blog so please be patient.

One of my close friends switched me onto this idea of starting my own blog which will be a great challange for me as i am the biggest 'Technophobe' currently living ;)
So i guess i should start with things you can expect to see in the future.

My name is Ryan and i am an Artist. Im currently doing a degree at the University of Central Lancashire and im loving every minute of it. I also work in a major uk art gallery and i believe it is the best job i have ever (and probably will) ever have. As you can probably see Art is a big part of my life. I hope, with the help of keeping this blog to share my vision and my work with the rest of the world.

My work consists of Sculpture, photography, installation, assemblage and collage. So feel free to take a look around and i will keep posting away.

Love,
Ryan
